Cycling /
Touring
We are extremely well placed to be the base from
which you may tour our beautiful landscape. The Greenlands Cycle route
is a 20 mile, five day cycling route which traverses
the south og the county. The route is a self-marked
way covering countryside, villages, bogland,
farmland and callows. The pathway is specifically
designed to route via small villages, visitor
facilities, heritage sites and areas of ecological
interest. A quality brochure, map and heritage
guide support the route. |
History
& Heritage
People have come and gone from this valley for the
past 5,000 years, with every age leaving its reminders. History becomes our story as we
realise our current journey merely follows the trail left by our ancestors.
The Suck Valley Region is home to many reminders of times past and the
glorious history made in the area. Castle ruins, Crannogs, Megalithic
Monuments are all here, as well as reminders of our more recent past. |
Crafts
The region has a flourishing craft tradition, which
is appropriate for an area so rich in heritage, environment and local history. You are
encouraged to view and of course purchase our craft products and also to attend craft
courses conducted in the region. Check out our notice
board for details of planned Exhibitions
and Art Classes |
